Dhvani works as a software that converts speech to text as well as translates the local languages of Madhya Pradesh to other understandable languages. It works as a tool for the police to understand the problems of the complainant in a language they understand better. Dhvani aims to eliminate the language barrier created due to diversity of languages in the state of Madhya Pradesh and make evey communication a success.
Language is a basic form of communication, so it is best to anticipate human computer communication in indigenous languages. There are only a few languages in which speech recognition systems have been developed. So there is a lot of room for building speech panels in the indigenous languages of the regions such as Madhya Pradesh. MP is located in central India. There are many languages spoken in different MP regions such as Urdu, Malavi, Nimadi. A Bagheli speaking person will not be able to understand a person who speaks Malvi. This creates a language barrier between the two, and with more than 10 languages in MP it can be even more problematic. This program will translate spoken words into legible vernacular texts that will help people from different regions to understand each other more easily.
